The Brighton Birdcage opened its doors on the 3rd of May 2019 at 35 Gloucester Road to (we are glad to say) open arms. It's run by Nick and Wain who have worked in many walks of life over the years, including theatre, performance, photo shoots, make up, wig styling and of course drag. The 'Birdcage' (as it's already being referred to) was set up, not just for drag queens, (although this is a big part of what we do) but also for anyone that cross dresses or has thought about it but was never sure where to go and also for anyone who is trans. Already we have helped so many on their journey of discovery. We cover everything from wigs to heels and everything in between, including make-up, lashes, clothing, accessories, body shaping and jewellery.

This is always an exciting part! Whether you are looking for all those natural tones or the strong vibrant colours of the rainbow. Short, mid-length long, lace front, non lace front we have them all available. You can purchase the wig piece as it comes, or you can choose from one of our amazing styles. All you have to do is choose the style you would like and then decide which colour to have it in.

With many years of experience, using tried and tested products and after extensive research, we are delighted to stock the world leader Kryolan, with a vast range of foundations, eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushers, powder, glitters and lip and eye pencils. To finish off the whole look, we have a good selection of eyelashes. Application tools are also available including brushes, eye makeup applicators, sharpeners, tweezers, lash curlers and sponges. We have glues and wax to keep everything in place and cleansing products to take it all off.
Clothing is most probably our largest collection of stock we have available, we are looking to add this to the online shop very soon. From the go to classics that are extremely popular to a number of one offs. We will aim to provide as many sizes as we possibly can and we will be working hard to keep changing the stock, so there will always be something new for you to choose from. If it is not in stock, we will do our very best to get it for you.
Here you will find a good collection of clip on earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets to complement every look. We have everything from the extremely large crystal statement jewellery to slightly smaller detailed pieces.
When it comes to forming the right shape, clothing isn’t always enough. Sometimes we need a little help using padding, body shaping and underwear. Here we have a good range hip pads, Cinchers, briefs and underwear to help create the perfect silhouette for you. We also now have one of the largest collection of breast plates in the country for you to come in and choose the right one for you.
Shoes, like beds are very important. If you’re not in one, you’re in the other. That’s why finding the right shoe that makes you feel confident and comfortable is an absolute must. We stock many styles and brands such as Pleaser, Bordello and Funtasma. Shoes that will suite every occasion, from black classics to 7ins sequin platform stilettos.
We sometimes need that little something extra to finish off a look, whether it's a bag, or a boa, a fan or some shades, we have this covered.!
